Reese Witherspoon clearly still relates to her Legally Blonde character Elle Woods. The iconic line, “Whoever said orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed,” may have been first uttered more than 20 years ago, but the snippet of dialogue from the rom-com still rings true today.

Witherspoon proved as much on Instagram on Feb. 22 by sharing an adorable montage of photos of herself wearing pink over the years. Bright blush-colored gowns, light pink dresses and magenta accessories all made the cut.

“I tried to look for other colors, but nothing appeals like pink,” a TikTok voiceover stated in the background. “Oh you have that in pink? Oh yeah, I’ll take the pink.”

“It’s a lifestyle y’all 💋🎀🦩💕,” the Your Place or Mine star playfully wrote in her caption.

The post quickly racked up more than 80,000 likes and tons of comments, where plenty of fans quoted the aforementioned Legally Blonde quip.

“On Wednesdays we wear pink and you CAN sit with us!! ☺️💕,” Witherspoon’s media company, Hello Sunshine, wrote.

“Pink is an attitude and you wear it so well!” gushed Stacey Lee.

“Reese when’s Legally Blonde 3 coming out? ❤️,” questioned one fan.

“Elle Woods would be proud of you 💖,” someone else added.

“Is this a hint for legally blonde 3?" another follower hypothesized.

The third film in the Legally Blonde franchise was announced in 2018 and was initially scheduled for release in May 2022 but has been delayed. Witherspoon will reprise her role as the main character, and her The Morning Show costar Mindy Kaling is writing the script for the forthcoming project.

“You know, it’s it’s one of those projects where it takes longer than other things because we just don’t want to mess it up,” Kaling told TODAY last June of the scriptwriting process. “The character is so beloved.”
