Amy Schumer Claps Back at Media Critiquing Her Recent Weight Loss

Amy Schumer is clapping back at those who’ve felt the need to critique her weight loss, as well as her recent social media switchup. In case you missed it, Schumer made headlines this week when outlets reported that the comedian had wiped her Instagram account of all the photos she had posted before November 2025.
She started fresh with a new carousel of snapshots shared on Tuesday, Nov. 11, featuring the actress in a stylish cherry-red mini dress and a classic pair of black pumps. In the caption, she stated that she was “feeling good and happy,” and also outright joked that “she deleted [her] old pics for no reason”—still, that didn’t stop some from speculating.
Clearing the air
After outlets reported that Schumer had specifically wiped her account of all photos taken “before” her recent weight loss, she took to the app to clear the air, posting a throwback photo with a lengthy, direct caption.
“Hey media outlets I didn’t delete my old photos because they were pre me losing weight. That’s a narrative you created. I’m proud of how I’ve looked always. I have been working to be pain free and I finally am,” Schumer penned in no uncertain terms. “My endometriosis is better. My back is healing. I no longer have Cushing syndrome so my face went back to normal. I am grateful to be strong and healthy especially for my son.”
She then added further clarification, noting, “But your Instagram is not your identity it’s a curation of what you want the world to see and I feel great strong and beautiful and it’s been fun sharing that.”
She went on to reiterate that, while she’s proud of her hard work, she didn’t seek to go on a “weight loss journey,” but instead wanted to focus on her health and her needs as a perimenopausal woman, asking that people be respectful of her choices in the future. Shortly after she shared her statement, she posted another throwback photo that appeared to be taken moments after the birth of her son, which she simply captioned, “🔥🔥🔥.”
Support from fans & famous friends
Naturally, many of the comedian’s 12.6 million Instagram followers, as well as a few of her famous friends, were happy to hop in her comment section to share their support, as well as applaud her authenticity:
“Love you forever,” Anjelah Johnson-Reyes penned under the post.
“So glad to hear your endo is better!! ❤️,” Violet Clair added.
“👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 exactly! Let them know! ❤️,” Jae Manuel Cardenas seconded.
“Its always us women they do this to. Good for you for speaking out dear,” one fan concluded.
