Anne Hathaway Is Going Viral on TikTok for Her Dance to Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Manchild’

We’re convinced there is nothing Anne Hathaway can’t do. The Oscar winner—known for her timeless style and impeccable acting chops— has gone viral this week for a TikTok moment featuring none other than Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild.”

In the short video clip, the 42-year-old actress and producer danced solo in her living room, following the choreography that goes along with the track’s viral bridge, which has been sweeping TikTok thanks to Carpenter’s live performances and behind the scenes content.

The moves for the viral trend are evocative of a traditional line dance, involving a dramatic hair flip, a sassy hip sway and a cute little shimmy to the “I like my men all incompetent” lyric, which one must deliver with peak sass and self-assurance. Naturally, Hathaway brought her own charm to the trend, offering a glimpse into her playful side while nailing the rhythm with her signature poise.

The video opened with a montage of rehearsal clips, which she labeled “How it started…,” showing the Brooklyn native working hard to get the moves down. “Getting warmer” came next, as she gained confidence and began to master the sharp routine. Finally, she revealed the dazzling finished product with the excited label: “How it’s going!!!” The transition was seamless, the energy was electric and the performance was flawless. One thing about Hathaway: she always does what is needed to achieve perfection in a performance, whether it’s on the big screen or TikTok

“Oh @SabrinaCarpenter you’re so fun 🪩💕🥰,” the Devil Wears Prada star—who is currently in pre-production for the sequel film alongside Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt—captioned the video.

“it’s giving Ella Enchanted when she’s in giantville,” one fan commented, referencing her titular role in the 2000s classic.

“It’s giving Mia thermopolis after her royal duties,” another wrote, this time referencing her breakout role in The Princess Diaries.

“Our queen (of Genovia) 👑,” Brilliant Earth agreed.

“what can’t you do?,” Amazon Prime Video added, to which Hathaway hilariously replied: “Math.”

“Imagine hating on Anne Hathaway and she’s just practicing Sabrina Carpenter choreography in her cozy clothes,” another fan gushed.

Carpenter’s “Manchild” has quickly become a Gen Z anthem—fueled by biting lyrics, glittery pop production and the kind of confident delivery that has solidified the 26-year-old as a Grammy Award-winning artist.

The choreography is catchy and approachable, with both stars and fans alike eagerly joining the trend. The song is set to appear on her upcoming seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend, which will be released at the end of August.
