Benny Blanco’s Latest Selena Gomez Wedding Update Is Not What Fans Want to Hear

Wedding planning is on hold for the couple as they navigate their busy schedules.

“Better late than never” is how the saying goes, and this phrase is one that fans of Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez’s relationship may have to keep in mind for a little longer with regards to their impending nuptials.

Per PEOPLE, 37-year-old Blanco sat down with podcast host Jake Shane for the latest episode of Therapuss with Jake Shane. While on the show, he gave listeners a breakdown as to why he and Gomez are in no rush to get married right now, despite officially getting engaged in December 2024.

“We’ve both been working so much,” Blanco answered. “We got engaged and then we were filming music videos for our album. Then it’s [the] holidays, [and] right after the holidays, we had to start all the promo for our stuff—do that. Then she left to film her show, and then I met her [and] we hung out for a week, and right after that it’s promo. Then I’m writing another book, so I had to write a book, and then she came back for one day here, and then it was my birthday."

The engaged couple’s respective schedules have been so hectic that time works against all the effort needed to go into wedding planning. However, he notes that he won’t let the summer end without making some sort of progress—news that fans can rest easy knowing.

“I think this summer we’re going to sit down and be like, ‘Okay, what are we doing?’” Blanco added. “I think it will be like chill.”

While the producer is busy making catchy hits music lovers can’t get enough of, Gomez is preoccupied with juggling being a Screen Actors Guild Award-winning actress, traveling the world, making new music with her soon-to-be husband and inventing new products for her multi-billion (yes, billion!) dollar company.

Still—despite the chaos that can overtake these lovebirds’ lives—they always find time for one another. When the going gets a bit too tough, they find solace together, surrounded by tasty treats and the sound of a TV show or movie.

“With Selena, I can do it all day,” Blanco stated in regards to lying in bed when overwhelmed. “She makes me want to hang out and cuddle, just watch things, just eat food and have piles of food around us and have the best time ever.”

While this wedding update may not be one fans want to hear, it’s good to know that these two are still head over heels for each other.
