On Wednesday, Feb. 4, Dove Cameron linked up with Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper for her inaugural appearance on the Golden Globe-nominated podcast. Just 24 hours later, the “Boyfriend” singer—who stars on Prime Video’s 56 Days alongside Avan Jogia, which premieres on Feb. 18—rang in another feat. The newly turned 30-year-old graced the February 2026 cover of Allure.

Cameron’s front-page image—which featured the former Descendants star in an off-the-shoulder pastel blue top, contrasted with a bold smokey eye and metallic navy lipstick—was coupled with an in-depth interview, where she delved into her engagement to Måneskin lead singer, Damiano David, and her upcoming television series on the Amazon streaming service.

However, she began her conversation with the publication by offering a reflective sentiment on aging. The actress celebrated her birthday on Jan. 15 with a new tattoo and a pajama party with her “people,” she penned on Instagram, and shared a 15-slide carousel on the app on Jan. 19 featuring a themed gathering joined by her friends and fiancé.

When asked for her thoughts on aging, regarding her professional career, Cameron candidly told the publication, “I think getting older kind of bangs. How you feel about yourself is what defines your life … and how I feel about myself has only gotten better as I’ve gotten older. I hated myself when I was younger; I don’t feel like that person anymore. I haven’t felt like that person in a very long time.”

The actress has been in the spotlight for well over a decade. In 2013, she began her four-year-long tenure on the Disney Channel series Liv & Maddie, and in 2015, she notched her first movie gig with the television mogul as “Mal” in Descendants. The film extended into a trilogy, launching Descendants 2 in 2017 and its third and final installment, Descendants 3, in 2019.

“I told my mom when I was eight. [...] I was like, ‘I cannot wait to be an adult. No one takes me seriously.’ Now I don’t need anyone to take me seriously because I truly don’t care how anyone takes me,” the actress explained to the publication. “I know who I am, I know what I’m capable of so far. I have no desire to be perceived in a certain way. The only way I desire to be perceived is truthfully—and I think I’ve chosen the wrong industry.”
