Lindsey Vonn said it best: “If there’s one thing I know how to do, it's a comeback”.

This time, that comeback starts in the weight room, as she spends the final days before the Milano Contina Games building up her strength following a torn ACL from her crash in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. However, after sharing the “incredibly hard news” with her 2.8 million Instagram followers earlier this week, the 41-year-old Olympic gold medalist said she was still planning to compete in the Women’s Downhill race on Sunday. The appearance will mark her first Olympic stint following her 2019 retirement and her fifth appearance at the global games in her career.

Just two days after the update, Vonn headed to the same app to share how she’s preparing to hit the slopes, despite the unfortunate diagnosis on her knee. In a 20-second clip set to Andy Grammer’s 2019 tune “Don't Give Up on Me,” she stitched together a slew of clips in the gym as she trained with her leg in a sturdy brace. Vonn penned to the post, “I’m not giving up 💪,” mirroring the lyrics to the pop song. “working as hard as I can to make it happen!”

Fellow athletes headed to the post's comments to cheer on Vonn and her unwavering determination.

“Unreal,” Lindsey Horan penned.

“Legend.” Ilona Maher chimed in.

“You got this❤️,” Allyson Felix wrote.

If you’re a longtime fan of Vonn, you’re going to want to tune in for the international competition on Sunday, which will be streaming on Peacock from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Her upcoming race marks a full-circle moment for the athlete, as she told ESPN.

“When I competed in my last World Cup in Cortina, it was the 2019 season, my last season, and I did horrible. I thought, ‘How disappointing.’” She continued her conversation with the outlet, adding, “I have one more chance. I’m in such a better place. I want this to be the ending that I choose. And maybe I’m asking too much, but I do believe that certain things are meant to be, and there’s a certain level of faith that comes into play in life and I don’t think it’s an accident that I'm here and Cortina will be my final race.”

The Milano Cortina Games commence with its Opening Ceremony tomorrow, Feb. 6, at 2 p.m. ET on Peacock.
