Simone Biles and her husband, Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens, hopped on a plane to Italy earlier this month to attend the Milan Cortina Games, and—after the festivities came to a close on Feb. 22—Biles reflected on her experience in the stands.

“First Olympics as a spectator! 💃🏾🎉🇮🇹,” the seven-time gold medal-winning gymnast wrote on Instagram with a collage of frames from her stint overseas. “I’ve lived it as a competitor—this time I got to witness it. Huge congrats to every athlete who showed up & gave their all! And to those who walked away feeling like it wasn’t your best—you are still elite, still worthy, and your story isn’t finished. 🤍”

Biles has participated in three summer Olympic Games, making stops in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, Tokyo in 2020 and Paris in 2024. During her inaugural global games, which approaches its 10th anniversary this year, she notched four gold and one bronze medal. She added two more—one silver and one bronze—to her total in Tokyo; and, most recently, notched a trio of gold and one silver at the latest summer games in Paris. Biles is also declared by the Olympics as “the most decorated gymnast in history.”

The 28-year-old and her husband, 30—who tied the knot in April of 2023—cheered for the athletes on location instead this month, and Biles and Owens also spent some time in the gym with Laureus and a group of young gymnasts during the trip.

“Had a blast ❤️❤️,” Owens penned to Biles’s post, which featured the duo with their arms wrapped around each other in its first image.

“You guys are so adorable!!! Love love, love,” a commenter declared on the duo.

Another user posed a question to Biles underneath the carousel, “One last dance in 2028? 🥹🤎,” to which the athlete responded, “on home soil 🥹.”

At the time of this article’s publication, Biles has not publicly declared if she will be competing in the 2028 Games, which will be hosted in California. She was previously asked if she was considering taking part in an interview with Today while she was overseas in Italy, but she kept her response open, saying in part, “We got a little bit more things to do, and then we’ll see.” Check out more on the athlete’s full response here.
