Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens Were the Definition of a ‘Power Couple’ in 2025

The duo—who tied the knot back in April 2023—spent the last year loved up, and we’re here for it.

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens began 2025 with a plethora of passport stamps, making stops in Switzerland and South Africa during the first two months of the calendar year. And, while the couple has spent most of the fall and early winter domestically, traveling to NFL stadiums across the country to support Owens and his Chicago Bears squad, their year was filled with plenty of swoon-worthy moments both on and off the field.

They brought the looks

In May, Biles and Owens showcased back-to-back fashion moments, starting with the Kentucky Derby on May 3. On-site at Churchill Downs, the duo matched in pastel lilac looks before Biles gave the “Riders Up” call at the annual event in Louisville.

Roughly 48 hours later, Biles and Owens touched down at the 2025 Met Gala, trading their purple looks for cobalt and white ensembles from Harbison Studio and Deji & Kola, respectively.

They reached major milestones

In November, the couple revealed that their new house together—which began its “design process” in 2020, the gymnast disclosed on Instagram—was officially completed. Just one day later, she posted a trio of black and white snaps inside the Houston home to the app, which featured the couple celebrating the milestone with pizza.

They supported each other’s success

Individually, 2025 marked a triumphant year for both Owens and Biles. The NFL safety’s Chicago-based team had its best regular-season start in 15 years, The Athletic reported, following their 24-15 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 28. Biles notched a slew of honors herself, including the Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year Award in April and two ESPYS for Best Athlete Women’s Sports and Best Championship Performance in June.

And the duo also publicly expressed their love for each other proudly throughout the year. For Biles’s 28th birthday in April, her husband penned to Instagram, “Being married to you is everything i could’ve ever asked for, a beautiful, funny, intelligent and confident person that motivates me to be the best version of myself everyday.” He continued, adding, “I’m so blessed to have met someone as amazing as you baby, i cherish every moment that we spend together.”

At the Met Gala, Biles told ENews! that “every day [she and Owens] fall more and more in love with each other,” and, earlier this month when discussing her appearances at Owens’s various NFL matchups throughout the fall, she told PEOPLE, “He’s broken so many barriers, he was undrafted, free agent and D2 school. So, that’s my main priority.” She added, “Just showing up and supporting my husband.”
