Sophie Turner Accidentally Caused a Celeb Couple to Break Up for a Very Silly Reason

The actress recently shared the wild story on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers.’

This week, Sophie Turner reminisced about a moment between herself and a fellow actress that went “really south, really quick.”

The Emmy-nominated star stopped by Late Night With Seth Meyers on Thursday evening to promote her upcoming film Trust, where the two chatted about everything from her work with rodents to their children’s birthday parties.

For her late-night appearance, Turner sported a sparkling, sheer, long-sleeved, black lace mini dress layered over a matching high-waisted two-piece set. She accessorized the daring look further with a fashionable pair of open-toed heels, and her long blonde hair was parted down the middle, styled in relaxed waves. Her makeup was a gorgeous summertime-friendly glam, with smoky eyes, bright cheeks and nude lips tying the ensemble together.

While this was the first time Turner had ever appeared on the late-night talk show, the two stars had crossed paths years back during a San Diego Comic-Con afterparty. Meyers opened their chat by noting that they’d initially met “right when Game of Thrones was taking off,” before Turner swiftly interrupted, stating, “That night was actually quite crazy for me.”

The actress then revealed she’d brought a friend along to the afterparty that evening, where said friend saw an actor that they “absolutely loved.” The friend asked Turner to make an introduction for them; however, Turner wasn’t familiar with the actor in question, so she waved “hello” in their general direction instead—a move she’d later discover was taken wildly out of context.

“Later on, I see this girl looking at me, and she’s a famous actress. I was like, ‘Oh! I have to go and tell her how much she means to me,’” the actress recalled. “So, I dance on over and she goes, ‘Can you stop f***ing flirting with my fiancé?’ [So] I was like, ‘Who’s your fiancé?!’ And she points at the guy I waved at.”

Meyers and the audience gasped and giggled at the completely out-of-left-field reaction from the unnamed actress. It was then that Turner dropped the final plot twist, going on to conclude the story by saying: “Turns out, I think they broke their engagement off that night because of my wave. I didn’t realize I held this power.”

Turner didn’t share any further identifying details about the couple in question, noting, “I really can't name names or I'll get in a lot of trouble.”

While it’s unclear who the mystery couple from Turner’s story was, one thing is certain: With great (waving) power comes great (waving) responsibility.
