Taylor Swift Takes Fans Behind the Scenes of ‘Opalite’ Music Video With Latest Post

Less than a week after Taylor Swift’s near six-minute-long music video for her 2025 tune, “Opalite,” premiered on Feb. 8, the artist took to Instagram to disclose that there’s still plenty of footage from its 1990s-inspired set to share. And so, ahead of Valentine’s Day, she’s gifting it to the world.
The 14-time Grammy Award winner revealed in a 12-slide carousel that she actually created “two extended versions” of the music video alongside her captivating crew of castmates, including Lewis Capaldi, Domhnall Gleeson, Greta Lee, Graham Norton and Jodie Turner-Smith. In addition, the music video, which has notched over 9 million views and counting, featured a brief cameo from Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy, who shared the stage with the entire cast on The Graham Norton Show back in October.
“I never want to forget a single detail of this hysterical shoot, and now I don’t have to!” Swift started the Instagram post’s caption. Its cover image featured Gleeson and Norton, who also appeared in a few additional frames in the carousel’s collection. “Excited to share more of the Opalite Music Video with two extended versions full of dance lessoning, our phenomenal cameos, camcorder footage, gigantic scrunchies & fanny pack angles!” The artist continued before directing her followers to her “bio” to find the additional videos.
The pair of nine minute clips are available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Tidal.
Guest star sentiments
In the pair of videos, Swift’s fellow stars shared their thoughts on the project; check out these anecdotes from “Extended Version Part 2.”
“I think I have a knack for capturing people’s essence. And I think Taylor and the short amount of time that we’ve spent together in the past, noticed that about me,” Capaldi said while on set as he candidly directed Swift and Gleeson in a nostalgic mall photo shoot. Swift prefaced the sentiment by calling the 29-year-old “Before You Co” singer “one of the funniest people alive.”
While shooting one of her scenes for the music video—as a workout instructor who leads Swift through a series of exercises—Turner-Smith complimented the artist’s creativity, adding, “I love the way that her mind works.”
Lee offered a similar sentiment later in the video. The Past Lives actress gushed, “This is amazing. She did it. You did it. This is unreal.”
