On Dec. 9, Zendaya debuted the first image from her latest film, The Drama, and the internet is still in a frenzy.

In the frame, the 29-year-old Euphoria leading lady nestled into the arms of 39-year-old Robert Pattinson and flashed a shiny engagement ring. The snap appeared as an invitation, with a note above the couple reading, “You are cordially invited to” and “The DRAMA” showcased at its center.

The A24 film—directed and written by Kristoffer Borgli, the image revealed—will officially hit theaters on April 3 and was prefaced on-screen by the three-word phrase “Save the date.” One day after the snap was revealed, its official teaser dropped on YouTube, and A24 revealed the names of Zendaya and Pattinson’s characters: Emma Harwood and Charlie Thompson.

The Drama’s first frame draws a crowd

To say fans are excited for the duo’s latest endeavor is an understatement. Its front woman, who captioned the image, “THE DRAMA. Formal invitation to follow,” has already garnered 3.8 million likes and over 13,000 comments on the post (and counting) in under 48 hours.

“the zendaya 2026 takeover begins now!” One fan declared and then commented separately, “imagine having both Spider-man and Batman in the palm of your hands!” The latter note referenced Pattinson’s role as the superhero in The Batman in 2022, and Zendaya’s stint as Michelle “MJ” Jones in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). Not to mention, the actress’s fiancé is Tom Holland, who plays the star superhero in all three films.

“seen enough. what time should i be at the theatre?” Another commenter joked.

Zendaya drops a teaser

24 hours later, the movie’s leading actress posted the inaugural teaser for her latest big-screen stint. Sticking to the same wedding-like messaging as her previous caption, she simply penned, “Save the date.” as the post’s caption.

“We know something in underneath, just don’t know what exactly...and this was just enough to make me wanna sit in the theater and find out,” one user wrote as part of their comment.

Another user shared a similar sentiment, adding, “The way I still have no idea what this movie is about and I AM SAT ANYWAYS!”

“Anything involving Zendaya.. I’m SAT,” a user seconded.

“i’m seated. the theater employees are scared and asking me to leave because ‘it’s not april yet’ but i'm simply too seated,” another concluded, referencing Ayo Edebiri’s famous reaction comment.
