Certified fitness trainer Katie Austin celebrated a major milestone on Friday: her dog’s first birthday! The SI Swimsuit model and her pup, Milly, have been nearly inseparable since she brought her home in March.

Austin shared an Instagram carousel on Dec. 15 dedicated to her fur baby. The cover snap featured an adorable pic of Austin and Milly snuggled up near the Christmas tree. While the 2022 co-Rookie of the Year rocked cute printed PJs, Milly wore a birthday hat and pink ribbon around her neck. Additional photos showed Austin’s dog with a birthday pupcake decorated in pink icing, and sweet family moments captured over the last several months.

“GOOD MORNING WORLD ITS OUR MILLY GIRLS FIRST BDAY!!!!🥳🎉,” Austin declared in her caption. She also shared how she and her fiancé, Lane Armstrong, came to be pet parents. The two adopted Milly after a family member needed to rehome the dog. While Austin initially said no, she changed her mind when her mother, fitness guru Denise Austin, asked a second time if she wanted to take the pup in.

“This time, Lane was out of town 😏 so I was at home alone and agreed to meet her. Fast forward 2 days later.. Lane came home to a new puppy hahah and the rest is history,” Austin added. “Quickly she became our whole world. We love you Milly girl!!! Thanks for showing me how Lane is going to be as a future dad lol.”

Several of Austin’s 404,000 followers on the platform chimed in to the comments section to wish Milly a happy birthday.

“Great story 😂😂😂,” someone noted. “Happy Birthday Millie🎂🎅🏻🎄!!”

“She is JUST the cutest 😍. They bring us SO much joy ❤️,” one person wrote of family pets. “Happy First Birthday sweet Milly 🎂 🥳☃️.”
