In a recent interview with The Cut, actress and musician Keke Palmer revealed that she feels more dynamic since becoming a mother. The 29-year-old Nope star and Darius Jackson welcomed a baby boy, Leodis Andrelton Jackson, in February, and Palmer has since been outspoken about the joys of motherhood.

“After having my baby, I’ve gotten so much more powerful,” she proudly told the outlet. “We’re going to lean into this new body, and I think that is the whole aura of what’s happening with me in this big boss era as I come into my 30s, and I have my baby boy, and I’m just continuing to spread my wings as a young woman.”

The interview was published shortly after Jackson publicly shamed his partner’s outfit choices on Twitter. He insinuated that she shouldn’t dress certain ways simply because she’s a mother, which caused fans to quickly run to Palmer’s defense.

“Do you, new moms. Do you,” Palmer told the publication of her current mantra. “Girl, if there’s one person on this earth that loves you for sure, it’s that baby. Be happy, because there’s no love like it. Somebody loving you like that, hell, who cares?”
