Michelle Yeoh Radiates Joy as She Embraces the Role of Grandmother
Michelle Yeoh is officially a grandmother! The 61-year-old actress just shared the most touching Instagram photo from the hospital, where she was pictured alongside her husband, Jean Todt, his son, Nicolas, and daughter-in-law, Darina, who welcomed their baby boy, Maxime, on New Year’s Day.
The Everything Everywhere All at Once star, who made history last year as the first Asian woman to win an Oscar for Best Actress following her critically-acclaimed role as Evelyn Wang, cozied up with her family and the newest little addition to the clan.
“Love love love ❤️🥰❤️🥰✨✨,” the Malaysia native captioned the carousel she shared with her 2.4 million followers on Tuesday.
She first broke the news with an adorable photo holding her grandson’s tiny foot on Jan. 1, and wrote: “A little miracle on the first day of 2024 ❤️✨ we are so truly blessed… can’t tell u how happy I am for this very very special bundle of joy ❤️✨.”
After tons of fans chimed in to the comments to ask if she welcomed her own newborn, Yeoh set the record straight with an additional post.
In another sweet pic of her and her husband, who tied the knot in Geneva last July, she explained, “Thank you darling Nicolas and Darina for making us the happiest and proudest Grandparents!! Welcome baby Maxime ❤️💖✨❤️💖✨.”
Nicolas gave an update on his own Instagram account and noted that both mom and baby were healthy and he is ready for this exciting new phase of life.
“We are overjoyed to announce the birth of our son Maxime on January 1st 2024. Both mother and son are very well and we could not have started the year better! We are filled with happiness and blessed that Life gave us this opportunity,” the French motorsport team owner added. “Wishing you all a very Happy New Year 🎆.”
