Tamera McLaughlin Walks Miami Swim Week Runway, Paves Way for Other Little People

Model Tamera McLauglin took to the runway during Miami Swim Week powered by Art Hearts Fashion, becoming the first little person in history to do so.

In a post that she shared on Instagram, the 25-year-old trailblazer featured a clip of her runway walk. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the event, giving thanks to the owner and designer of the Naava Swim brand.

The internet personality stunned in a bright pink strapless bikini top and matching stringy bikini bottoms from Naava Swim. She paired the look with white braided heels and wore her curls in an updo.

“THEE FIRST LITTLE PERSON TO WALK IN MIAMI SWIM WEEK during Disability Pride Month! 🙏🏾 Couldn’t have done this without God and without @naavaceo owner and designer of @naavaswim.,” she captioned the post she shared with her 768,000 followers, celebrating Disability Pride Month.

“So thankful for this opportunity! My first runway ever ! THIS IS HUGE AND IM BEYOND THANKFUL AND BLESSED !” she continued.

McLaughlin received a lot of love and praise from her followers and fans.

The model was proud of her place on the runway and excited for the opportunity to affect change in the modeling industry.

“I really do get a lot of little people saying they look up to me due to the simple fact that I am creating change. I am doing something that a lot of people don't see,” she told Yahoo Life. “You don't have to be tall to be a model. You don't have to be really short. You can just be yourself, and whoever accepts you accepts you,” she says.
