Fall has almost arrived, and though the temperature might say otherwise, I know we’re all eagerly waiting for the moment the chunky knits, UGG boots, cashmere sweaters, thermal leggings and beanies can come out of hiding and the outfit compliments can start rolling in.

One fun accessory that doesn’t depend on the weather, however, is hairstyles. And with back-to-school season in full swing and beach waves and humidity (hopefully) behind us, we’ve found some quick and easy hairstyles that are super cute and simple to follow. Of course, they are mostly from TikTok, our trusty best friend for all things beauty, lifestyle and fashion.

Below are five quick and easy hairstyles that take under five minutes and will make you look chic and put together this autumn.

Pull-Through Mini Ponytails

Part your hair in the middle and separate a thin front-to-back section on each side. Split each of those sections in half horizontally and tie the front part with a small elastic before making a small hole and flipping the tail end of hair upside-down and through the hole. Secure that small section with the half you set aside earlier and repeat. Do the same on the other side.

This style is a bit complicated at first, but totally worth it once you figure it out. I mean, just look at how cute Maria Aiello’s hair looks above.

Faux Claw Clip Half Pony

Pull out two small face-framing pieces, or curtain bangs if you want. Section off the top half of your hair and tie it. Make a small hole above your hair tie to flip the end of the half-ponytail through, but don’t pull the hair all the way—instead, just let half of the hair through till the ends flop down, creating a voluminous half pony that looks like it was tied with a small claw clip.

Just Add a Bow

Cut up some ribbon and tie it or buy a real bow with a clip-on hardware. Add it to the top of your high pony, tie to to the ends of your pigtails or incorporate ribbons into any braid—it really doesn’t get more simple.

Slick Back With Double Braids

Slick your hair back into a ponytail using some gel, hair spray, curl cream, water or whatever your go-to method is—feel free to leave out some face-framing strands if you’d like. Split your ponytail into two sections once tied and braid or twist each of those sections separately and secure with a hair tie.

French Braided Pin Back

Split off two face-framing chunks of hair, making sure you section all the way from the root down to your ear. Pull it forward and separate both strands from the rest of your hair. French braid each side into its own thin section and secure with a small hair tie. Pull both braided sections back and tie them together, beneath the rest of your hair so they are hidden.
