They say life imitates art, and Ana de Armas is taking that to heart. Not only did the actress portray Marilyn Monroe in last year’s Andrew Dominik-directed film Blonde, she also shared a photo on Instagram bearing a striking resemblance to the star.

The 34-year-old actress attended the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) on Feb. 19, where she was nominated for Best Lead Actress for her portrayal of the blonde bombshell. While she lost out to Cate Blanchett for her role in Tár, de Armas was a winner in the fashion department.

She wore a custom light pink Louis Vuitton gown for the occasion, which featured spaghetti straps and ruffled detailing on the bodice, and de Armas’s look was styled by Samantha McMillen.

As for glam, makeup artist Mary Wiles opted for subtle winged eyeliner and a bold red lip. Hairstylist Halley Brisker worked de Armas’s dark locks into glossy waves, and the Knives Out actress accessorized with a simple diamond necklace.

In a joint Instagram post the day after the event, de Armas and photographer Greg Williams shared a black-and-white snap of the star that captured her in full old Hollywood glamour.

Plenty of flame and raised hand emojis filled the comments section, where fans and celebrities alike praised the actress’s chic look.

“The queen ❤️🔥🌟,” gushed actress Samadhi Zendejas.

“Cant go wrong with ana d armas.🙌,” added photographer Kevin Swart.

“Simply stunning,” said actress Wallis Day.

In her own IG post, de Armas thanked her team while supporting her colleagues and their achievements at the awards show.

“Congratulations to everyone, winners and nominees for the stunning work,” she wrote.
