Fur has been a staple in Angel Reese’s wardrobe during the latter months of 2025. The Chicago Sky forward has exhibited the fashion fabric in a slew of court-side looks, like these sideline styles in Mahattan, Orlando and Toronto, for example; and, as the calendar turned to 2026 on Thursday, Reese is proving that the material is here to stay for the new year.

Debuting her latest look on Instagram on Jan. 1, the two-time WNBA All-Star donned a fur-trimmed mini dress and paired the skin-tight garment with knee-high leather boots. While we’ve spotted the trending seasonal footwear on plenty of celebrities during the fall and winter months—such as Love Thy Nader star Brooks Nader and The Kittle Things co-host Claire Kittle—Reese put her own twist on the style by showcasing a fur strip on the heeled boot.

“Runway ready. That dress and boot are tea. Love they curls. You are that GIRL🔥🔥🔥,” one fan commented underneath the 13-slide carousel.

“Giving Y2K baddie. 😍,” another commenter complimented, nodding to the nostalgic aesthetic of Reese’s timelessly trendy fur trim.

However, while her outfit may have been giving her followers a blast to the past, her caption looked to the future. She penned, “new year= elevation: mentally, physically, and spiritually ✨,” and elaborated on some of her goals for 2026 on her podcast, Unapologetically Angel.

In an Instagram reel posted from the platform, the 23-year-old stated, “I think I’ve elevated in so many different areas in my life, from internally and externally, from friends into relationships to basketball, to modeling, to even just like the way I dress.”

She also prefaced the sentiment by reflecting on her milestone-filled 2025 year. Just some of those milestones included her first signature shoe with Reebok and a NBA2k26 cover for its WNBA Edition. Reese also became the first professional athlete to grace the runway at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and she was the inaugural WNBA player to appear on the front page of Vogue.

“I had so much to happen this year, and I’m just so grateful,” Reese continued in the reel, acknowledging that she also “learned a lot of lessons” through it all. As for what’s on the horizon, she said, “I feel like you continue to elevate and just be better, and that's what I’m looking forward to in 2026.”
