You’ve probably heard of the model-off-duty aesthetic, but have you heard of athlete-off-duty? Since we just coined the term, we’re going to go ahead and assume the answer is no.

So, here’s the concept: all of the most fashionable athletes have a certain off-court or off-field aesthetic. They showcase it in pre-game situations or on casual afternoons out. The best of it takes a cue from athleisure or sports-inspired garb (think dressed up joggers and athletic materials, but in high-fashion styles). Effectively, it’s a blend of sportswear and streetwear.

Alex Morgan just gave us one of the best examples of the sporty chic aesthetic that we’ve seen to date in the crowd at Super Bowl LVIII. But so, too, did LSU basketball player Angel Reese. The 21-year-old NCAA athlete posed for a casual photo shoot recently, showing off all angles of her athlete-off-duty look, which she then shared to her Instagram.

Reese paired her gray wide-leg sweatpants with a black leather jacket and a series of Chanel accessories, including white sneakers, a black quilted handbag, sunglasses and a pair of diamond earrings.

She was, in her own words, “Lil miss CC” in the Chanel-heavy style. And Reese couldn’t have dressed her sporty chic look up better than with the designer accessories. It’s safe to say, she makes the athlete-off-duty style look both glamorous and simple. To test out the style yourself, simply dress up your athleisure and call it high fashion.
