Before Ariana Grande makes her fifth Saturday Night Live appearance on Dec. 20, the 32-year-old multihyphenate shared that she will be taking the stage with musical guest Cher in an ensemble that may look familiar to longtime sketch comedy lovers.

Alongside the 79-year-old pop mogul and Wicked: For Good co-star and SNL cast member Bowen Yang, Grande donned a duo of items designed by Bob Mackie during a teaser video for the late-night show.

“I’m Ariana Grande, and I’ll be hosting SNL this week with Cher,” the actress began the 52-second clip, released on Dec. 18. Following the sentiment, Yang responds, “And Cher, am I dreaming?!” as the “Believe” singer pretends to slap the pair. “Snap out of it!” she declares, referencing her Academy Award-winning role in Moonstruck. Yang and Grande swooned in unison after, “Cher just slapped us!” The trio lightheartedly restarts the introduction twice more in the brief clip.

And Grande sported a Bob Mackie design that paid homage to another beloved TV program host. Its designer declared to Instagram that her look featured “a multi-color silk-crepe chevron striped halter neck gown, with a matching shawl,” which was “originally worn by [Carol Burnett] for the opening monologue of The Carol Burnett Show.”

The official episode in which the multicolored creation was showcased “aired on March 17, 1973,” the designer continued, tagging both Grande and Burnett in the post. He also credited Law Roach as the stylist behind the Eternal Sunshine singer’s ensemble.

“Two multifaceted icons wearing an iconic creation 🧡,” one commenter penned to Mackie’s five-slide carousel, in which he showcased both on-screen superstars in the floor-length garment. “insanely next level,” another fan agreed.

Grande, too, took to her own feed to showcase the warm-toned ensemble, which consisted of marigold, tangerine, beige and walnut hues. And while fans also gushed in her comment section, a few fellow actresses chimed in to leave their own stamps of approval.

“Okaaaay ☀️🌻✨,” Daniella Monet, who shared the screen with Grande on Nickelodeon’s Victorious, commented.

“Yes.” Elizabeth Gillies, who was also a cast member on the Nickelodeon show before making stints on the CW’s Dynasty and Off-Broadway’s Little Shop of Horrors, chimed in.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes's Rachel Zegler also headed to Grande’s comment section, where she wrote, “yup yup yup yup yup.”
