Dove Cameron appeared on the latest episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in a monochromatic ensemble that took an elevated approach to the phrase “business casual.”

The 30-year-old actress, who stars as the leading lady in Prime Video’s 56 Dayspremiering on Feb. 18—donned an all-black ensemble on the Jan. 27 show, featuring a plunging blazer and matching flared trousers. She rounded out the look with a pair of pointed-toe heels, skinny hoop earrings, a singular necklace and also showcased the onyx shade in her chic manicure.

While Cameron caught up with the show’s host and Saturday Night Live alum, Jimmy Fallon, she also delved into the behind the scenes story of her engagement to Måneskin singer Diamano David. She gave Fallon the full rundown, leaving no stone unturned from the time David confirmed that he was planning on proposing to the fellow artist and the moment he decided to ask for her hand in marriage in the couple’s shared home.

“You know the one thing you have to do. You have to wear white every day. You have to always have your nails done, ‘cause there’s no way that we, as a group, as a community, can plan this engagement. If you’re not gonna be prepared,” she remembers her friends saying, when she told them that she knew her partner had created a ring. In fact, he told the “Boyfriend” singer, “The ring is done,” before she ultimately dished the news to her friends.

However, Cameron disclosed that it was while “packing” at home that David decided to pop the question, which she admitted she was not “prepared” for. “I, like, forgot how to function for a minute. My brain broke in half, and then I came out into the living room and he had something in his hand,” the artist continued, before later elaborating that the candidness was part of David’s plan all along.

“I wanted to do this here in our home because I want dishes, I want laundry, I want baking food together, I want you in your big t-shirt; and this is the life that I choose, and I hope you choose the same,” Cameron recalled of David’s proclamation before ultimately asking her to marry him. Of course—displayed by the massive rock on her ring finger, which she showed Fallon and her 47.4 million Instagram followers earlier this month —she said yes.
