How to Curate the Perfect Face of Mermaid Glam, According to Model Emily DiDonato

We all have our go-to makeup routines—the ones we know we can count on for everyday use and the ones that we have more than perfected at this point.

But sometimes, we want to swing for glam that’s just a little bit more fun, or a little out of the box. We can wear a simple face of makeup on any old day, but it’s not always easy to sport something more dramatic.

When you do want to experiment, though, we have the perfect look for you to try: Emily DiDonato’s mermaid glam. The American model recently shared a tutorial to her Instagram in which she put her ethereal makeup look on display, and we have to say, we’re totally enamored.

She started with an icy blue layer of eye makeup to match her eyes. She brushed her eyelids with a shimmery light blue sheen, then added a highlight underneath her eyebrows. In classic form, DiDonato added a little bit of rosy highlight to her cheeks, then she finished off the look with a vibrant coral-red lip.

“The Pisces in me had to try mermaidcore makeup 🧜‍♀️ 🌊 ✨,” she admitted in the caption of her reel.

Sure, the look probably wouldn’t be fit for everyday wear, but it would make for a great aesthetic when you want to have just a little bit of fun with your makeup look. Next time you’re feeling adventurous, check out DiDonato’s video for inspiration. We’ll certainly be taking her lead.
