Jenna Ortega’s Pink Dress With Dramatic Waist-High Slit Is Pure ‘70s Bombshell Vibes

Jenna Ortega is giving the world some major nostalgia as she stunned on the latest cover of Harper’s Bazaar, styled in ‘70s attire that took our breath away.
For the cover, the Wednesday actress’s ensemble featured a hot pink Balenciaga dress that began with an alluring deep plunge, which went all the way down to her midsection. A bow in the middle brought the garment together and also served as a cute little detail. Moving down further, the dress spread out into a flowy skirt with a slit going all the way to Ortega’s waist. From there, she donned a pair of dark stockings and some nude pointy-toed Balenciaga heels.
To further drive home the ‘70s vibes, her brunette hair was styled in loose shoulder-length curls with wavy bangs. Bright teal eyeshadow perfectly juxtaposed with the pink garment, implementing a pretty pop of color. Overall, the entire look was truly an eye-catcher!
With Harper’s Bazaar, Ortega talked about her beginnings in the acting industry. As a child, she described herself as very “existential”—so much so that she had no choice but to use acting as an escape from all of the noise that existed in her life.
“I was always very existential as a kid,” Ortega said. “The world was always ending. I was worrying about things way earlier than I needed to. My work felt like the safe place. When I wasn’t on set, I had a really, really hard time.”
Despite being wise beyond her years, Ortega also noted that she still struggles with being treated as younger than she is, despite being a 22-year-old woman. The only way to counter this, she believes, is to prove them wrong with her mindset and the life she leads.
“It really irks me when people say, ‘Oh, you don’t understand. You’re so young.’ Because if you’re not open to the experiences that you’re having and you’re not willing to learn from your mistakes or reflect on your decisions, you’re not going to grow at all. You’re choosing to be a bystander.”
Now an adult who marches to the beat of her own drum, Ortega looks back fondly on her career thus far, as well as her fans who were with her every step of the way. But—while she wants to make her dedicated fans proud—she also knows every path she chooses to embark on must make her proud first.
“I’m very grateful for my audience, and I want to be able to give back to them. But I also want to do things that are creatively fulfilling to me,” Ortega said. “So it’s finding that balance of doing movies that they might be interested in and then doing movies that I’m interested in. And then I want to be able to line up all of my girls and see something different in all of them.”
