It seems like Julia Garner was born to wear polka dots, as the actress looked exceptional in this tried-and-true trend while on the red carpet for the premiere of Weapons in Los Angeles this week.

For the California premiere, Garner wore a white one-shoulder, floor-length dress covered in black polka dots. Cleverly bundled fabric adorned her other shoulder, creating a unique shape that stood out and elevated the silhouette. Also adding to the overall sophisticated look of this gown was the black band going around her waist and the very chic bow on her hip.

She channeled Old Hollywood glam with her blonde hair styled into gorgeous finger waves. Her makeup was also praiseworthy, as she opted for a bold red lip that perfectly juxtaposed the hues of her garment. Overall, Garner proved that no one can go wrong with a classic black eyeliner moment, since it’s a look that always keeps things fresh and refined.

Similar to her red carpet look, the plot of the 2025 title she stars in is utterly out of this world. And Garner attests that the horror film is unlike anything anyone has seen before, filled with twists and turns no one could possibly see coming. In fact, when she received the script—which was written by Barbarian mastermind Zach Cregger—she was taken aback by how the story unfolded.

“It’s funny because the script was so unpredictable, but that’s also the reason why I wanted to do it” the 31-year-old said when asked about her experience of bringing the script to life. “I’ve never read anything like it. To this day. It was definitely one of the best scripts I’ve read in years, and it’s one of the best scripts I’ve ever read.”

The horror film follows the character Justine Gandy, a teacher who comes under scrutiny when only one of her students remains after the rest mysteriously disappear in the dead of the night. With tensions high and parents demanding answers, she has no choice but to attempt to get to the bottom of what really happened; however, what she finds surpasses all understanding, forcing her to come to terms with a true terror.

It’s a bone-chilling film that Garner remained fascinated by. Perhaps that’s the reason why, if she ever wanted to do another horror film, she would readily return to Cregger’s set.

“If Zach’s making another film, I’ll do that,” she responded regarding her next steps in the horror world. “That’s what I’ll do.”
