Katie Austin's Halloween Costume Has Followers Declaring She Won the Holiday

Katie Austin’s Halloween costume is genuine proof that “like mother, like daughter” is a saying that rings true.
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model chose to emulate her mother, Denise, for the spooky holiday. She paid homage to Denise’s Reebok campaign due to the fact that her trailblazing mother was the brand's very first spokesperson in the 1980s, but also because the retro fitness outfit was just that good and timeless.
In her Halloween costume, Austin sported a red leotard with light gray pantyhose underneath it. She also donned a pair of light pink leg warmers, an item that certainly feels reminiscent of this age of exercise attire. She rounded it out with red Reebok sneakers, matching the hue of the upper half of her ensemble perfectly.
Austin was the spitting image of her mother, especially when viewing the older photos of her fitness-loving matriarch, which were included in the model’s carousel. Fellow SI Swimsuit model Camille Kostek seemed to agree.
“You win Halloween,” Kostek wrote underneath the post.
Needless to say, other commenters were also living for this look, including the one person from whom Austin needed a stamp of approval the most.
“THIS IS PRICELESS KATIE!!!!!!!” Denise expressed. “I am laughing so hard!!!!!! I love you soooo much!!!!!!! Xoxoxo.”
“Okay this is epic. I also want to be @deniseaustin at any given time, so I’m on board 😂😂🙌,” one commenter joked.
“The way you two are literal twins 😍🔥,” another stated.
With how much Austin looks up to her mother, it doesn’t come as a surprise as to why this was a no-brainer costume. Their lives often parallel one another, such as when Austin found herself in the Bahamas at the exact spot where her mother had made a fitness video 35 years prior.
This certainly wasn’t the first time Austin emulated her mother, and it likely won't be the last. Earlier this spring, she told The New York Post that recreating her mother’s content brings her joy.
“I would love to start traveling the world and do her exact recreation videos,” Austin told the media outlet. “She saved all of her leotards and retroactive wear, so I could actually wear the same leotard in the same location, which is really cool.”
No better way to pay respects to the person who made Austin into the person she is today. All the more reason why Austin did, in fact, win Halloween.
