Katie Feeney’s Business-Ready Monochromatic Set Is a Style Win at ‘ESPN’ Debut

Katie Feeney is joining ESPN in style. The 22-year-old Penn State University alumnus signed with the brand on Monday to curate content for their social and digital platforms, per ESPN Press Room. She wore a sophisticated two-piece set to celebrate the occasion.
In her first Instagram post since news of her signing broke, the content creator—who has amassed a social media following of over 14 million users, ESPN reported—sported an all-black look with a button-up vest, matching mini skirt and closed-toed pumps. With a microphone in hand on the network’s Bristol, Conn., campus, Feeney gave her followers a glimpse of her future workplace.
“There’s a relatability to [Feeney]. Our research shows that’s what fans want,” ESPN’s Senior Vice President of Digital, Social and Streaming Content, Kaitee Daley, told The Washington Post. “They want to see themselves in the sports personality that they’re following.” For the brand’s new member, Feeney’s transition into the role has been met with enthusiasm from her massive fanbase, as well as from the content creator herself.
“From capturing Penn State games on the sidelines to now joining the biggest platform in sports, this journey has been incredible,” Feeney stated as part of the press release. “I grew up watching SportsCenter with my family, and I’m proud to now be part of the storytelling that brings ESPN to millions of fans around the world.”
Debuting the news in a combined Instagram post between ESPN PR and Feeney, members of the SI Swimsuit family have also reached out to celebrate the recent college grad.
“Omg [Katie Feeney] this is SO MAJOR!!!! Congratulations!!” four-time model Katie Austin penned. Both Hanna and Haley Cavinder—who walked in last year’s SI Swimsuit runway show—also commented on the joint post to congratulate Feeney.
The following day, Feeney shared more frames of the full monochromatic ’fit—as she adventured around campus. From checking out the greens to exploring the SportsCenter studio, the content creator was all smiles in a separate black and white ensemble, where she styled a ruched, black short-sleeved top with a pair of pleated white shorts and matching sneakers.
“What once felt like a dream is now my reality,” Feeney penned alongside the post, tagging the network in her caption. “Thank you to everyone who believed in me and supported me along the way. Excited to take you all along this next chapter ❤️❤️.”
