Keke Palmer is the latest style icon to grace the cover of Who What Wear—and baby, is she serving up some delicious looks! Her images for the magazine’s most recent issue are giving Old Hollywood glamour mixed with Black excellence, and we’re obsessed.

Who What Wear took to their Instagram account to post several new photos of the celebrity this week. The post opened with Palmer wearing a gorgeous brown satin gown with ruched fabric at the bust and a high slit at the bottom. This elegant piece also includes asymmetrical straps that truly elevate the gown even further, making it a show-stopping piece. She wears her hair in a short, throwback style with soft curls throughout. Her bold red lip is also praiseworthy.

The next look in this collection is just as retro chic, as those flawless finger waves can be noticed from a mile away. The 31-year-old multi-hyphenate has more of a vintage vibe in this image. Between the furs, the fishnets and the black and white coloring, it looks like she was pulled straight out of a classic movie from the 1930s.

Other shots feature Palmer sporting even more breathtaking outfits, including one comprising an avant-garde mini skirt made out of silver pump heels (which could be a nod to icon Josephine Baker). All these looks tell a little story of Palmer in some way, with each being an intentional decision, as fashion means a great deal to Palmer and the way she expresses herself.

“I want my brand to feel like something to aspire to while also feeling attainable,” the Nope actress noted with regards to her fashion choices, which have recently been cultivated by stylists like Molly Dickson and Sergio Hudson.

“Sergio taught me how to use glam fashion as a place of refuge. Sometimes, fashion and glam would be annoying to me because it was always kind of wanting me to be something and needing me to be something. I always felt like I was never fitting the task,” Palmer added.

Yet she fits like a glove in the fashion industry, carving out a unique space for herself where she can be the multidimensional person she is while also conveying all the emotions she feels through the fashion-forward garments she wears. Throughout dressing up in various styles, the actress discovered beautiful truths about herself.

“What’s so interesting is that after everything happened, I almost felt more open to being dressed up, to escaping into an idea of someone much more glamorous, someone outside of what I was existing in, especially in the daily life of being a mom and the breastfeeding and just feeling unlike yourself. I was 50 pounds heavier. I just felt so not me.”

She continued, adding, “Being glamorous became a sense of finding my way back to myself and back to a stronger, more confident version of who I was before.”
