Kylie Jenner Brings Back Two Classic Trends in One All-Black Outfit

The reality TV superstar channeled some serious Y2K energy for a pre-birthday photo drop.

The early 2000s are back—at least, that’s if Kylie Jenner has anything to say about it.

The brand mogul, mom of two and reality TV superstar has been on a fashion roll this week, sharing several stunning looks on her Instagram account (like this marvelous Madonna-inspired moment, for instance). Still, her latest photo drop may be our favorite of the week so far, as it made a case for two subtle, summer-friendly trends to make a comeback, and they both scream Y2K: tie-front tops and low-rise pants.

Playfully captioning the seven-photo carousel, “last friday as a 27-year-old,” Jenner posed outdoors for several sultry snapshots while wearing a matching all-black set. The top was a tie-front tank with a deep plunge, while the bottoms were cut in an extreme low-rise, sitting far down on the superstar’s hips for an ab-flaunting final look.

With a glass of red wine in hand, Jenner gave the camera lens her signature smolder while basking in the warm sunlight of golden hour. Her long, dark hair was styled in voluminous waves, which billowed beautifully onto her semi-bare shoulders. Meanwhile, her makeup was a classic Kardashian/Jenner glam, with matte skin, neutral eyeshadows, plush eyelashes and lined lips being the gold standard.

As Jenner’s caption alluded, the superstar will be celebrating her 28th birthday this Sunday, Aug. 10, and you better believe plenty of her 393 million Instagram followers and famous friends were quick to wish her another year of success and style in her comment section:

“28 is better I promise,” Hailey Bieber confirmed.

“🔥,” Elle Fanning simply added.

“It only gets better 😍🥰,” Sharlena Hassani noted.

“The most Leo Leo of our time ♥️♥️♥️,” Kylie Swanson joked.

And 2025 has definitely been a year filled with success and style for Jenner, especially when it comes to her brands and business ventures.

The star’s clothing line—KHY by Kylie Jenner—all but stole the summer thanks to a major partnership with fan-favorite swimsuit brand Frankies Bikinis, where the two fashion powerhouses joined forces to launch their first-ever line of push-up bikini tops with matching bottoms. Most recently, Jenner teased an upcoming new drop for KHY, which included even more early 2000s vibes courtesy of the various cuts and colors, though no release date is available for this particular drop yet.
