Lily Aldridge’s Modern Take on the French Mani Is So Chic

Update the classic style just like the SI Swimsuit model did.
Modern French manicure

Modern French manicure.

While many of us are heading to the nail salon for bright, festive red manicures or painting our nails sparkly hues at home around the holidays, there’s something to be said for a classic nail aesthetic any time of year.

It doesn’t get much more classic—or classy—than the French manicure. While you may be picturing a boring mani of the past, allow us to bring model Lily Aldridge’s modern take to your attention. The SI Swimsuit star and former Victoria’s Secret Angel made a case for her sophisticated, contemporary take on the style, which featured milky white, almond-shaped tips.

Celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik shared a photo of his client’s nails to Instagram on Dec. 10, and it caught the eyes of many users, ours included. The technician shared a close-up of Aldridge’s simple, yet stunning manicure.

“Perfect Sunday Mani 🤍💅,” Bachik wrote in the caption of his work. Several fans and followers chimed in to the comments section with compliments, including the star herself.

“Faves!!!” Aldridge replied.

“How do I ask for this? ❤️ The @tombachik special?” one fan quipped.

“perfectly natural French 🤍,” someone else concurred.

Aldridge, often a fan of the clean girl nail aesthetic, judging by her Instagram feed, appears to be leading the charge in switching up the traditional French manicure.

Model, mom and entrepreneur Ashley Graham also revived the classic mani earlier this fall, so we have all the proof we need. Be sure to bring the above pic to your next nail appointment as inspo.
