Lily Collins Puts Her Own Spin on Fur Outerwear for Stint on ‘The Tonight Show’

The actress stunned in the autumnal staple during her evening in the Big Apple.

Fall fashion has been defined by fur, with notable names like Angel Reese and Sydney Sweeney giving the cozy fabric their stamps of approval in November. Yesterday, Dec. 9, Lily Collins joined the club.

The 36-year-old Emily in Paris actress sported the fabric herself in New York City, before heading to The Tonight Show to chat with its host, Jimmy Fallon. She tossed an oversized onyx coat over a slip midi dress in the same shade. The spaghetti strap Fendi number featured mesh paneling across the garment, which Collins displayed on stage during her appearance.

Additionally, she added knee-high leather boots, a cherry red handbag and dainty jewelry to finish off her ensemble as she was spotted strolling in New York City.

During the segment, Collins and Fallon delved into another signature component of her glam before providing a sneak peak of the upcoming fifth season of Emily in Paris, which debuts on Netflix on Dec. 18. That component, of course, is her ultra chic micro bob—which she noted was inspired by Victoria Beckham. The host then surprised the two-time Golden Globe nominee during their conversation by bringing out Beckham herself.

Collins’s haircut shapes the style of her character, Emily, on the Netflix program, the actress revealed. During her appearance on Good Morning America—less than 24 hours after her interview on The Tonight Show—she disclosed that her haircuts have sparked lots of creativity in the show's costume design.

“The hair always comes first. Meaning, like, whenever I need a change, I cut my hair,” the actress explained on the morning television program. “Then Marylin [Fitoussi, Emily in Paris costume designer] sees the haircut, and she said it just inspires her for who is Emily next season; and then she starts looking at different shapes and designs, and she sees the evolution of Emily through Lily’s haircuts.”

In its latest season, Emily ditches her long, warm brown waves for the short and sleek style, while adventuring away from Paris and into Rome. “It is magic. She just went to Rome, she chops her hair,” Collins candidly continued. She later added, “It’s like all of us. We just change ourselves when we want to.”
