Madelyn Cline’s Fiery Mini Dress Screams Slasher Chic Ahead of Anticipated Movie Release

The actress stars in ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer,’ out in July.

It’s undoubtedly going to be a “summerween” for the cast of the new I Know What You Did Last Summer film, who are gearing up to release the new horror sequel in July. We’re about a month out from the theatrical premiere, and the new faces taking on the iconic franchise are starting to step out for the press tour.

Members of the new cast, including Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks), Chase Sui Wonders (The Studio), Sarah Pidgeon (Tiny Beautiful Things), Tyriq Withers (Tell Me Lies) and Gabbriette Bechtel (Idiotka), looked fabulous while attending an early screening on Saturday, June 14 at the Singleton Theater on the Sony Pictures Studio lot, as reported by Just Jared.

While most of the female cast rocked black outfits to match the tone of the movie, Cline went for fiery red, donning a gorgeous sleeveless scoop neck mini dress with feminine gathering at the bottom, completed by black open-toed heels.

As for the rest of the I Know What You Did Last Summer crew on Saturday, Pidgeon—who just booked the role of Carolyn Bessette in American Love Story—looked lovely in a sophisticated off-the-shoulder little black dress with a pop of color in her red closed-toed heels. Wonders went strapless with a classic black mini dress featuring a gold metal detail and matching black open-toed shoes, while Bechtel channeled edgy chic in a see-through lace long-sleeved shirt, black pleated mini skirt with lace detailing and tall black leather heeled boots.

As for Withers, he attended the event in a blue button-down over a white tank, black leather textured pants and cool Western-inspired shoes. All in all, the cast proved they’re ready for their close-up.

After posing for photos, handing out horror-themed sweets and enjoying the screening, the group was then joined by writer/director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and writer Sam Lansky for a moderated conversation about the movie.

In I Know What You Did Last Summer, five friends attempt to cover up a fatal car accident. Sound familiar? When a mysterious person who knows what they did begins stalking them, they must turn to survivors who went through a similar situation in the ‘90s for help.

The movie also stars Jonah Hauer-King, Lola Tung, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Austin Nichols and Billy Campbell, with returning franchise stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. reprising their roles from the original two films.

“This is a pass the baton moment for Freddie and I to sort of be able to say, ‘You guys take the franchise now,’ and I really hope for the new cast that it’s as magical and amazing for them as it was for us a very long time ago,” Hewitt shared on Good Morning America last week. So, it’s just been really fun.”

I Know What You Did Last Summer hits theaters on July 18.
