Madelyn Cline Is Pretty In Pink for ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ Premiere in LA

On Sunday night, Madelyn Cline arrived at the United Theater on Broadway in a ’fit we can only describe as utter perfection.
The 27-year-old actress, widely known for her role as Sarah Cameron on Netflix’s Outer Banks, marked a new milestone in her career as her latest film, I Know What You Did Last Summer, premiered in Los Angeles. The next chapter of the beloved franchise—which originally hit big screens in 1997—is coming to theaters on July 18.
As reported by Just Jared, Cline sported a plunging pastel Conner Ives gown featuring a halter neckline and ruched fabric that expertly hugged the actress’s frame. She paired the look with nude open-toed shoes and kept the accessories to a minimum.
“THIS IS SO CUTE 🥹🥹🥹,” a fan wrote on the movie’s official Instagram account, where they posted a reel of Cline on the carpet.
“Future scream queen 🤞🏻,” one commenter gushed.
“You look like a sugar plum bubble gum princess🫧🩷👑,” another user complimented, tagging the actress.
“Pink is her color 😍,” a user scribed.
While Cline wowed fans on the carpet, she also earned high praise from her co-stars—including franchise original Freddie Prinze Jr. “I remember the first day I watched her, she had to maintain this certain level of emotion pretty much all day, and she did it with such ease and such elegance and grace,” Prinze told PEOPLE.
For Cline, the admiration is mutual, and she shared how both Prinze Jr. and his wife Sarah Michelle Gellar’s presence on-set was a full-circle moment for the film.
“It was really special and kind of iconic to share this experience with [Gellar], and with Freddie, and everyone who came back. It was a dream,” Cline told Screen Rant, adding that the duo was “a part of the family.”
The actress also credits the couple—who have been married since 2002—for the franchise’s revival almost three decades after its original debut.“We’re here because of them,” Cline continued. “We are doing this because of them.”
With the film’s release on Friday, fans of the original movie and newfound horror lovers will witness the franchise’s return. As for director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson—because of Cline and the cast—she could not be more proud of the final product.
“They’re a joy to be around,” the director told PEOPLE. “If nothing happens and this movie bombs—and it won’t—I will still walk away feeling like this was one of the best experiences of my career because of them.”
