When it comes to cultivating a healthy head of hair, effective routines are bound to differ from person to person. Like any beauty products, hair-care supplements and techniques are not one size fits all.

With that being said, there are several tried and true methods that are bound to help no matter the length, texture or consistency of your hair. For example, most of us know that exposing our hair to excessive amounts of heat is a bad idea.

But, where other tricks are concerned, we don’t have a set routine to rely on. For that reason, we were glad to find that wellness leader Melissa Wood-Tepperberg was more than willing to share exactly what products and processes have allowed her hair to absolutely thrive in her 40s.

“My hair has gone through so many changes since having kids, but it’s without a doubt stronger, thicker and healthier now in my 40s than it ever was in my 20s,” she revealed in a recent Instagram post. “I’ve definitely always had a good head of hair, but it’s gone through so many waves of thinning, breaking and being dry af from my postpartum days, modeling years and from coloring my hair. Here’s a breakdown of things I swear by that’s helped my hair through all these phases.”

The following 10 recommendations from Wood-Tepperberg, like all things beauty, will affect everyone differently. With that being said, here are the products and habits that have helped her.

  1. Eating a plant-based diet
  2. Drinking green juice everyday
  3. Consistently drinking water
  4. Consuming “high-quality” protein
  5. Colonics
  6. Act and Acre hair products
  7. Using a high-tech curling iron
  8. Air drying hair as much as possible
  9. Using hair oil
  10. Nutrafol hair growth supplements

If you’re looking for healthier, fuller hair in 2024, consider trying some of her tested methods.
