Sydney Sweeney Merges Snow Angel Chic With Old Hollywood Glam for ‘The Housemaid’ Premiere

The Housemaid officially hits theaters later this week, and the Los Angeles premiere for the film saw its stars out and about in their best holiday-ready styles.
As one of the film’s leads, Sydney Sweeney was certainly a standout on the red carpet, taking the concept of snow angel chic to the next level, while also merging the sweet and soft aesthetic with some classic Old Hollywood vibes.
Oh, we’re sorry, what was that? One designer outfit isn’t enough for you? Well, don’t worry—her fabulous team actually styled two luxe looks.
Taking to the red carpet at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday, Dec. 15, in a look by her longtime stylist Molly Dickson, Sweeney wore a custom Galia Lahav couture gown featuring a daringly deep halter-neck cut. The ruched material of the bodice created a cinched shape around the actress’s waist for a classic silhouette. Photos taken of the back of the garment also revealed a line of delicate buttons down the top, which added to the overall vintage feel of the piece.
The sultry bodice then cascaded into a flowing skirt, the light fabric of which was semi-sheer. The skirt also featured what was easily our favorite detail of the entire piece: a ring of plush, crisp white feathers right around the hem. Leaving her neckline bare, Sweeney accessorized with a bejeweled bangle bracelet and a pair of glittering earrings.
“Brought to life through over 170 hours of meticulous handwork and refinement, the gown was sculpted to her body and tailored precisely to her vision,” the official Instagram account for Galia Lahav wrote in a post highlighting the garment. “Every detail was thoughtfully customized to create a flawless, powerful silhouette made for a moment like this.”
The wondrous winter-friendly look not only channeled holiday party vibes, but—as PEOPLE pointed out—it also took a page out of Old Hollywood’s playbook. In several stunning snapshots taken on the red carpet with the actress fanning out the skirt, it was clear she harnessed a bit of Marilyn Monroe’s energy from that iconic scene in The Seven Year Itch.
Sweeney’s glam for the occasion was also a marvelous mix of modern and timeless, with the perfect pop of shiny red on her lips. Makeup artist Melissa Hernandez took to Instagram to share that she used Armani Beauty to achieve the glam, along with individual eyelashes from Dark Swan Luxurious Eyelashes to give Sweeney the ultimate wide-eyed look.
And as we noted above, this radiant red carpet moment was just one of two ensembles Sweeney sported for the premiere, with her after-party outfit sticking to her unofficial snow angel chic theme. The adorable white mini dress was crafted in a simple tube top design, with fabric flowers stitched throughout. She accessorized with a pair of pointy-toed white pumps to complete the look, rocking the same gorgeous Armani glam.
