Is Tate McRae simply serving up a sickening look on her Instagram, or is there something more to her latest fiery photo than she’s letting on? Either way, fans seem to be enjoying both possibilities!

The singer took to her Instagram account this week to share a head-turning photo from a recent shoot in support of her latest studio album So Close To What. She dons a glittery blue mesh dress, sparkling underneath the Hollywood skies. The dress and shoes come together to create an ensemble that both veterans and newcomers of McRae will likely recognize from a mile away.

In addition to being astounded once more by this classic McRae outfit, many are also stunned by her ambitious drive, as she uses this quote from French-American writer Anaïs Nin to seemingly spell out her next move. Fans believe the “restlessness” she’s referring to in her caption could be indicative of her burning desire to release a deluxe version of So Close to What.

“SO IS A DELUXE COMING???” One fan excitedly asks in the comment section of the post. Many other comments hold the same sentiment, writing remarks like, “IS THIS A HINT AT A DELUXE ALBUM?!!!” and “Omggggggg she is teasing again.”

Between the smashed-in Hollywood star and the caption, it’s natural to believe these things add up to mean McRae has something up her sleeve. Although she has yet to confirm a deluxe album explicitly, fans can tell she’s not done just yet and that new music will eventually be on the horizon.

And when it comes to making new music, one thing that motivates McRae is doing what scares her the most, with the 22-year-old telling Billboard, “I knew I wanted to put ‘Sports car’ out mostly because I felt like it was a big swing for me as a dancer, and I could really see that song visually. Whenever a song kind of scares you in the studio, there’s some magic to it. And I was really terrified of that song for a long time.”

“I think I was honestly just feeling a little sensitive as a girl at this time,” she added when discussing her song “Purple lace bra.” She then went on to add, “It’s not a normal thing to be perceived by that many people when you’re releasing music, when you’re putting yourself out there. Sometimes, it can be a bit of a mind f**k.”

Perhaps whatever fans theorize is on the way will be a blend of these concepts and more—or perhaps McRae will go in a different direction entirely. Only time will tell. But in the meantime, McRae wants everyone to know she has way more to offer.

“I feel like I’m just hitting the surface of what I want to do dance-wise and performance-wise. And I think there’s some really deep and dark messages behind a lot of my songs that I want to crack a little—that I want to open up a little further and really work with my choreographers and my creative directors and try to figure out a message for everything and make it feel like a full story.”
