When it comes to the best in-person shopping experiences, not all cities are created equal. Bigger cities are usually better suited to the ideal shopping experience, gathering a huge variety of stores within a small walking radius in a way that smaller towns can’t. But no matter where you live—in a big city or a small town—you can always find a good vintage, antique or second-hand shop nearby.

While the thought of sifting through hundreds or thousands of items in search of the perfect vintage find might sound daunting, SI Swimsuit model Christen Harper is here to assure you that it doesn’t have to be difficult. While some vintage stores are curated to follow a particular style, most stock a few second-hand staples that can make for easy go-to outfits.

Harper shared a vintage haul from the online The Vintage Twin storefront and her recent trip to ABC Vintage in Birmingham, Mich., on TikTok on Sept. 5. Her in-person shopping experience yielded a handful of Detroit Lions pieces, which will come in handy as she attends NFL games this fall to support her fiancé, Lions quarterback Jared Goff.

And while we love the sporty vintage pieces she got her hands on, we’re more interested in her fall fashion find from The Vintage Twin. Harper found a chic blue Ralph Lauren oversized quarter zip from the New York-based store that she declared is perfect for the coming cool weather.

“It’s going to be really cute... with some jeans and boots or Birkenstocks this fall,” she said of the find. “[It’s] very cozy and so soft. I love it.”

So as the weather begins to cool and you find yourself looking for new go-to fall staples, head to your local second-hand store for a look at their oversized sweaters—the perfect cozy pick according to Harper.
