Vanessa Kirby’s Unique Bright Blue Gown for ‘Fantastic Four’ Premiere Is Redefining Maternity Wear

Vanessa Kirby has looked marvelous on every red carpet recently. She’s been taking Hollywood by storm. Honestly? We’d even go so far as to say she looked fantastic. (Get it? Please just say you get it, we’re running out of puns.)
In case you missed it, the actress has been on a fashion roll recently thanks to the press tour surrounding Marvel’s highly anticipated upcoming summer offering The Fantastic Four: First Steps. And in the process, the mom-to-be has been redefining maternity wear in the best way imaginable, donning jaw-dropping designer gowns in daring cuts and fabulous fabrics.
Most recently, Kirby took to the appropriately colored blue carpet for the film’s world premiere in Los Angeles, Calif., where she wore a breathtaking blue gown crafted from a unique fishnet material. With her adorable baby bump on full display, the actress was all smiles while reuniting with the cast and crew.
The layered look consisted of a matching bluw bodysuit-style undergarment with a long-sleeved, high-neck netted layer on top. The piece then flared out into a brilliant mermaid cut at the bottom for an extra pop of pizazz. The ribbon around the middle of the overdress was a lovely touch, as it also provided a fitted final silhouette. Kirby then accessorized with a dangly pair of silver earrings as well as several silver rings on each hand, which was appropriate given the role of silver in the film (i.e., the appearance of iconic Marvel character the Silver Surfer).
Her beautiful blonde hair was parted to the side and styled sleek and straight, while her makeup highlighted her signature strong eyebrows and pink lips. Overall, it was certainly a premiere look worthy of a superhero.
And Kirby’s pregnancy off-screen has proved to be somewhat kismet, as her character Sue Storm tackles motherhood on-screen. Given the title of the film and the scenes fans have been treated to so far, it’s clear that parenthood with play a major role in the film, a fact that has not been lost on Kirby.
“You know, I spent half the movie in a pregnancy bump and now it's here on the carpet with it,” she exclusively told Extra. “The boys don’t even look at me differently because they’ve just known me as just that, you know? Now it just happens to be real.”
Be sure to catch all of the action when The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters July 24!
