10-Time SI Swimsuit Model Irina Shayk Double Dipped for 2 Tropical Photo Shoots in Hawai’i and the Philippines
Supermodel Irina Shayk spent 10 years straight modeling for SI Swimsuit. She made her debut in 2007 with photographer Pamela Hanson in Tucson, while her latest photo shoot was captured by Yu Tsai in Tahiti.
In ’11, Shayk became the first Russian-born model to land the coveted magazine’s cover after being photographed in Hawai’i by visual artist Bjorn Iooss. She double-dipped for another feature in the Philippines that same year, which was captured by Raphael Mazzucco.
“To be honest, the time flew by. Today I woke up and I was like, ‘Wow this is my 10th year!’ It’s kind of amazing,” the 37-year-old said about her decade of magazine appearances with the brand. “It changes every year—they take you to different locations every year. I feel like I grew up with them—they hired me back in 2007 and I didn’t really speak English back then. I’ve learned a lot about being more confident with my body, because Sports Illustrated always hires girls who love their bodies, their curves, and it’s really important to love your body. My journey with them really showed me how you can be a better woman—how you can experience your body in a better way and be more confident.”
Below are eight gorgeous photos from both of her 2011 photo shoots.
