2021 Cover Star Leyna Bloom Is Back for Her Third SI Swimsuit Feature With ‘Beautiful Timeless Imagery’

Leyna Bloom is back for her third SI Swimsuit feature and she revealed that it was her favorite one yet! The model, who made history as a rookie in 2021 when she became the first transgender woman to be featured on the cover, shared a sappy message alongside a stunning snap from this year’s photo shoot in Dominica with photographer Yu Tsai.
“Today marks 3 strong seasons with @si_swimsuit I’m so honored to come back a 3rd time. To represent my community and powerful feminine energy like mines worldwide,” she wrote. “I feel so lucky to be seen and so happy to be amongst these beautiful Amazonian, queens in all different forms of beauties, bodies and brands. I got the call from @mj_day to come out to Dominica 🇩🇲 so we can all share our light and talents together to create such beautiful timeless imagery.”
The styling for Bloom’s photo shoot pulled inspiration from disco and extraterrestrial aesthetics: lots of glam, glitz and sparkles.
“This is by far my favorite experience so far. I love being in Dominica being received by my people in such a beautiful environment in this rotation of black love, it really brings so much happiness to my soul and to my people,” the Chicago native, who is of African-American and Filipino descent continued. “Congratulations to all the cover models this years especially @brooksnader you look incredible love. So happy for your cover and to all the other cover models of 2023. Thank you to my team.”
