Yumi Nu is a total triple threat. The musician, entrepreneur and model just dropped another single.

“Former Life” was released on streaming platforms on March 2, and the singer-songwriter shared an adorable announcement carousel post on Instagram.

“new single ❕FORMER LIFE ❕ out today 🌺,” she captioned a post shared with her 148,000 followers. “Such a special song to make with my bestie @kayhan.mp3 ~ I had to share some clips of the process <3.”

The first video included the song’s audio attached to cover art of pink moving flowers by artist Marisa Müsing. The second slide featured the 26-year-old jamming in a studio with producer Kayhan Azadi. Next was an acoustic snippet of the Blueki founder belting into a mic.

“Former Life” was mixed by Sylo and mastered by Simon Lancelot.

Nu, who is of Japanese and Dutch descent, released her six-track debut EP, Hajime, last May.

“I think that without that creative expression and output, I just don’t really feel as healthy or happy as I do when I’m expressing myself,” she told Vogue of her music.

Nu was featured on the cover of the 2022 SI Swimsuit Issue after posing for James Macari in Montenegro. It was a major milestone, as she was also the first plus-size Asian model to be featured on the magazine’s cover.

“This is truly groundbreaking in so many ways,” she gushed during the issue’s launch party. “To be a part of making history like this is like a childhood wound is closing. I get to be representation for people like me and that means so much.”
