NCAA athlete Olivia Dunne and TikTok influencer Olivia Ponton are great friends who are both featured in the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue. Ponton returned for her second year with the brand, while Dunne was one of two college athletes photographed for this year’s publication.

Not only did the two walk the red carpet together at the magazine’s premiere event at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York City on Thursday, the duo also created some adorable behind-the-scenes content for their social media followers.

“What’s better than one cover girl?” Dunne questioned Thursday in a TikTok clip before Ponton joined her in frame. “Two cover girls,” the friends mouthed along in unison before breaking into a dance and sharing a sweet embrace.

The 20-year-old LSU gymnast wore a black lacy dress by Peaches Boutique for the occasion, while Ponton, also 20, dazzled in a sheer chainmail gown with an exposed black thong underneath.

In an exclusive interview with SI Swimsuit, Dunne called the SI Swimsuit launch weekend in New York and Florida “incredible” while raving about the sisterhood she’s found among the brand’s fellow models.

“I’ve met a lot of the models and honestly, we’ve become like sisters,” she said. “They’re so sweet, and we’ve become so close. It feels surreal, it really does.”
