Gigi Hadid first posed for the SI Swimsuit Issue in 2014, when she worked with photographer Ben Watts along the Jersey Shore. The 28-year-old supermodel and mom of one returned for three consecutive years with the publication. After her rookie feature, Hadid traveled to Kauai, Hawai’i, where she modeled for Yu Tsai. Her most recent photo shoot with the brand took place in ’16, when she reunited with Yu Tsai in Bora Bora, French Polynesia.

While on location that year, the Guest In Residence founder and creative director revealed to SI Swimsuit that she is somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to her work.

“You only have a certain amount of time with the perfect light, and you only have a certain amount of time until the tide goes up and then you’re too deep in the water,” she stated at the time of a particular pose. “I was like, ‘I have to get this right. I have to get this right or the moment is going to pass.’”

Hadid got things right, to say the least, as the following six photos from her SI Swimsuit feature in Bora Bora perfectly illustrate.
