Kim Alexis has been a major name in the industry since the term “supermodel” was coined. The 62-year-old was discovered at 17 and has since been featured on the cover of hundreds of magazines, including Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Glamour and Harper’s Bazaar. Her signature voluminous blonde locks also made her the face of Revlon and Suave for several years.

Alexis made her SI Swimsuit debut in 1982 and returned the following for three more consecutive issues. She made an appearance in the magazine again in ’87 and ’88. The model shared an iconic throwback from an old scuba diving-themed photo shoot with the franchise on Instagram on March 18.

The clean living advocate wore a black body glove swimsuit with a hood and yellow trimming.

“When I modeled for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I got to travel the world,” she captioned the post she shared with her 18,000 followers. “Some days with all that travel, it was easier to do shots laying down! Did anyone ever wear these hood things when scuba diving or was it just me?”

“Beautiful photo, Kim❤️,” one fan wrote. “We miss the Jule Campbell crew👏🙌.”

“Truth be told, you are literally the ONLY person that could look good in one of those hood things,” another person gushed. “🙌👏80s 👸🏼 ♥️♥️♥️🥳.”

“I used to go bonkers over this photo,” someone added. “You looked so strong and athletic in it.”
