Caroline Marks Adds World Surf League Champion to Her Extensive Professional Résumé
American professional surfer Caroline Marks is busy making a name for herself in the world of competitive surfing. The 21-year-old joined the World Surf League Championship Tour when she was only 15, making her the youngest female on the the tour. Earlier this season, she earned a spot on the U.S. team for the 2024 Paris Olympics, following up her first appearance in the games at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Now, she’s a WSL champion, topping American Olympic gold medalist Carissa Moore during the finals on Saturday, Sept. 9. The athlete shared a photo to her Instagram on Sept. 11 in honor of the well-fought win, expressing her excitement over the impressive finish.
“A feeling I can’t put into words! World champion 🙏,” she captioned the photo. The young star received a lot of love from her friends and fans on the photo, who congratulated her in the comment section of the post.
“Congrats!!!!👏👏,” fellow prof surfer and one-time SI Swimsuit model Anastasia Ashley said.
“So good! Congratulations. :),” surfer Kelly Slater wrote.
“Insanely fun to watch! Congrats Caroline!!!!!!!!!” Conner Coffin added.

With the huge win under her belt, Marks will head into the 2024 season with an added fire. She will take on another regular season, as well as her second Olympic appearance with greater confidence and the hope for a better result this time around.
