Ciara Fans Have Mixed Reactions to Viral Cartoon Boots in Her Latest IG Post

The singer posted a video of herself dancing with the funky footwear, and some followers were not having it.

Ciara’s most recent Instagram post turned her comment section into a debate forum. The singer shared a video of herself jamming to a song and lip-syncing encouraging lyrics such as, “this is for the girls that need no man,” “this is for the girls living stress free,” and, “this is for the girls on a mission like me.”

“Positive Affirmations,” she captioned the Thursday post. “Speaking life into myself! #DaGirls.”

While the song surely was a bop, it was Ciara’s oversized red clown-like boots that caught the attention of her 33.4 million IG followers—who immediately shared their unsolicited opinions and mixed reactions in the comments. Some fans compared the shoes to boots from Dora the Explorer, while others name dropped characters like Mario, Clifford and Astro Boy.

“Best these boots have ever looked 🔥,” piped in actress Kerry Washington.

“I hate those boots🤦🏾‍♀️,” someone stated.

“Y’all gotta stop making any and everything fashion 😭,” another wrote.

“They gotta be giving yall these shoes for free,” one person joked.

“If I find anyone with these boots in the house, I’ll just make them flower pots,” Anerlisa Muigai chirped.

The 37-year-old paired the funky footwear with an oversized Michael Jackson T-shirt, gold chains and black sunglasses. Her long brown hair was left loose and naturally wavy.

The $350 “Big Red Boots” were made by Brooklyn-based small business MSCHF (pronounced mischief) and completely sold out following Ciara’s latest post. 

A few fans disregarded the boots entirely and begged the “Goodies” singer to release the song she was swaying back and forth to.

“Y’all busy talking about these boots,” one fan pointed out. “Sis we need this track ASAP!! 🔥🔥🔥.”

“Forget the boots,” another wrote. “The song. Release it.”
