The year is off to a strong start for professional basketball player DiDi Richards. The athlete, who plays for the Sydney Flames, an Australian professional team in the Women’s National Basketball League (NWBL), is solidly in the midst of an impressive debut Down Under.

The 24-year-old was drafted by the New York Liberty of the WNBA fresh out of her college career at Baylor. After just two seasons with the team, Richards was cut from the final roster last year, sending her in search of a new team. She landed with the Australian-based team last fall, and has proven herself a force to be reckoned with on the roster since.

Her latest media day snaps prove just how fierce she really is, too. The athlete shared a handful of the powerful flicks from the team photoshoot to her Instagram on Jan. 10, and we are thoroughly in awe. The carousel, which included a couple of solo snapshots, also featured a photo of Rihanna wearing a T-shirt that read “spoiled,” and one highlighting a series of verses from the Bible.

“God’s little princess 🩷,” she wrote in the caption.

“Can’t answer the phone tho is crazy,” her brother, DJ Richards, joked in the comment section. “y’all are annoying & can now say sorry cuz y’all know i was in practice. thank you,” she replied.

Richards and the rest of the Sydney Flames, who are currently ranked fifth in the NWBL, are set to play again on Jan. 12.
