Fans Are Freaking Out About This Beloved Rom-Com Cast Reunion
If you’re a millennial, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie likely played a major part in your upbringing. The cast of the 2005 rom-com reunited on Friday, and fans couldn’t be happier to see the women back together.
Blake Lively, America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn got together for SAG-AFTRA’s Barbie screening and Q&A in New York City on Dec. 15. Eighteen years after they starred in the film based off of Ann Brashares’s book, Lively, Bledel and Tamblyn attended the Big Apple event to support Ferrera, who played Gloria in this summer’s Greta Gerwig-directed blockbuster film.
Two days later, Lively shared an Instagram carousel of the women together, along with the sweetest message about the power of female friendships.
“Some weeks are for the man in your life. Some weeks are for the women…I was so happy to celebrate my denim sister @americaferrera,” the Gossip Girl actress wrote. “She’s the heart and soul of @barbiethemovie because she’s the heart and soul of everything she’s a part of. I’ve known her for 20 years. Since I was 16. I’ve watched her live, grow, soar, fall, make, break, push, fight, win, create, forge, disrupt, way make, lead, lead, lead.”
The photos racked up more than two million likes in just 10 hours, and fans quickly flooded the comments section with excitement.
“Do y’all understand seeing the 4 of you together like sisters fills millennials with so much dopamine lol,” one person inquired.
“this is the reunion we have all been waiting for 😭😭😭,” singer-songwriter Betty Who added.
“Listennnnnn this is the picture we all needed to see today 👖,” someone else noted.
“This is giving me back a part of my childhood I didn’t even realize I was missing,” another user admitted. “Thank you, Blake. ❤️.”
“🥹 When your girl gives good hype. I love you forever sis. 💕,” Ferrera sweetly replied.
