Gigi Robinson is having a fabulous year. She released a children’s book, received her master’s degree from the University of Southern California, appeared on Today, opened up about her experience with endometriosis and spoke on multiple panels about the creator economy.

The 2022 Swim Search finalist, who uses her platform to advocate for people with chronic illnesses, celebrated her 25th birthday on May 10 and decided to share all the advice she learned over the past year with her followers.

Robinson, who was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome at 11, wore a pink-and-orange tie-dye slinky mini dress and posed with a vegan cake from New York-based bakery Bleu Neige.

“24 things I learned in my 24th year of life. Career. Relationships. Personal,” she captioned the trio of pics marking her milestone birthday. “Wow. 24, what a year. 25, bring it on.”

Robinson’s 24 lessons are as follows:

  1. You have to come first. Knowing your needs will help you show up for others best.
  2. Meditate on who you are & who you want to become.
  3. Dedicate time to self care rituals & routines.
  4. Define what you want out of every situation & interaction you are in.
  5. Commit to your dreams & find a way to do what you say you want to do.
  6. A lot of people will want access to you once you do what you say you will do. Choose wisely on who you share with.
  7. Try new things, you may be surprised at the things that you may enjoy.
  8. You have to be your biggest cheerleader, even on bad days.
  9. Ask for help & constantly learn from others.
  10. Don’t take advice from someone who hasn’t done what you want to do.
  11. Connect to your childlike self by finding play time.
  12. Find joy in movement, even if it looks different than the norm. For me it’s water aerobics & walks.
  13. Figure out a lifestyle that works for you. For me it was going vegan & gluten free.
  14. Take rest & have a rest plan to help you reconnect to yourself.
  15. Make time to disconnect from your work & reflect on what is working & what isn’t.
  16. Saying no, is absolutely okay.
  17. Set clear boundaries at work, at home & in your relationships.
  18. Don’t change yourself for anyone else.
  19. Tidy up your damn room. And often.
  20. Treat yourself… daily-smelling fresh lilac blossoms-, weekly- perhaps a Starbucks drink, monthly- maybe a facial, yearly- a vacation.
  21. Get on a sleep schedule & stick to it. I swear this one is life changing.
  22. Be proud of how far you’ve come.
  23. Get excited about where you’re headed.
  24. Find a way to smile & laugh every day.
