How Megan Fox Is Raising ‘Honest and Respectful’ Boys

The actress and author recently opened up to ‘Women’s Wear Daily’ on the matter.

Megan Fox released her debut book of poetry earlier this month, and while Pretty Boys Are Poisonous documents her tumultuous relationships with men over the years, the actress hopes her three sons will learn about love from the example she sets.

The 37-year-old A-lister is a proud mom of three, who shares her sons Noah, Bodhi and Journey with her ex-husband, Brian Austin Green. Fox, a 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue cover star, recently chatted with Women’s Wear Daily about everything from her career to her sense of fashion, and even opened up about motherhood and how she’s raising her children.

“I think because I have sons, it’s very important to me to raise boys who are not like these men that I’ve been with,” Fox told the outlet of some of the prior relationships that served as inspiration for the book. “It’s very important for me to raise boys who are able to have a very deep emotional intimacy with their partner. It’s very important to me that they are not liars, that they are able to be fully transparent and honest and respectful... I am their first introduction into women and the way that I love them is going to influence the way they are allowed to love others when they go out into a relationship. And so I hope that just through my transparency in the way that I engage with them, in the way that I am demonstrative and affectionate with them, that allows them to love in a really healthy way.”

The sentiment echos one that the Jennifer’s Body star shared with SI Swimsuit while on location with the magazine in the Dominican Republic. Despite being a Hollywood superstar, Fox stated that her favorite role to date was that of being a mother to her three children.

“When I step back, I know how connected I am and I’ve always been and how present I’ve always been,” she said of being a mom. “I see the reflection of the type of mother that I am in their eyes and in their behavior.”
