Introducing Madisin Rian, 2023 SI Swimsuit Rookie

The face of Armani Beauty makes her debut in the magazine this May.

Madisin Rian has been in the modeling industry for 15 years, and in 2018, she became the face of Armani Beauty. Rian has also appeared in campaigns for brands like Donna Karan, J.Crew and Polo Ralph Lauren. The model will make her debut in the SI Swimsuit Issue in May.

She recently traveled to the Dominican Republic for her rookie photo shoot with photographer James Macari. Rian described her time on location as a “dream come true.”

“I’ve dreamed of doing SI [Swimsuit] for so many years now, and for me to be in the moment right now that it’s happening, I’m a firm believer that everything happens in the right timing,” she shared.

Rian stated that she appreciates the diversity of the magazine and is excited to share her story with the SI Swimsuit audience. She also said living in your own truth, whatever that may be, is the definition of strength.

“It takes courage to be who you are in this world and that is very strong. … Just walking in your truth and just not being afraid to be who you are, and also loving other people and being patient with other people,” she stated. “It takes strength to just stand in who you are.”

Rian shared that she put that notion into practice when she chose to shave her head in 2017.

“I just woke up one day and I just buzzed [my hair] off,” she stated, adding that she has no plans to grow her hair back out. “I did that because I just wanted to be free.”

Rian hopes that by seeing her images in the SI Swimsuit Issue, young women will be encouraged to be their own authentic selves.

“I think it’s really important for little girls to see themselves in the world, to see themselves being represented on every platform. ... I want to represent for women who are bridging the gap between both sides of the industry and also just in the world,” she said. “Whether you want to be an artist or you want to be a model, or you want to be a singer … you can be whatever you want to be.”
